So we seem to be getting there very slowly. I wonder how long it'll be before we can add photos and media to our poi's and view satellite imagery like they promised in the beginning. Possible an upgrade with version 9.15 or maybe it'll be on Satmap Active 74. |

I have looked at the latest news update on Satmaps website but I don't see any mention of a userguide.
Is it me just being a thickie!!?

The user guide link is here in the About Active 10 section and replaces the old manual that was there...

Follow the link to the 'about' page where you will find the links to user guide on the right.
Direct link to user-guide in .pfd format here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I had that problem about not seeing the FULL manual.
BUT
return to Website
Go to about column
and low And behold there is a new window where
ON the Right hand side is a column of links
ONE of which connects to the item required |

Not having time to read all of those pages, does anybody know whether the new upgrade will help the satellite detection time on start up AND can it keep the satellite's locked on, this is where i have the most problems. _________________ TomTom Go 60

I have never had problems with acquisition time so it will be difficult to comment on that, I only had mine upgraded to v1,15 yesterday and there are some neat additions to the software and some new options.
One that might assist you is when the device boots up it goes straight to the GPS Status page, remaining stationary until you have acquired a good position fix will certainly help matters, this way you can now see what is going on without having to select it via the menu's etc. Additionally there is both Max SNR and a new Av SNR displayed on the GPS Status page, so you do have a little more information presented to you.
I would get the update if I were you, there are some other tweaks that make it worthwhile, a further reduction in battery power consumption is a plus point, lets face it the update is free - Mike |

SatMap are claiming that both acquisition time and lock-under-cover are improved by this firmware update. To quote directly from the readmore link on their website; "The new software also has a new power management system that significantly reduces
the overall power consumption of the Active 10, thereby improving battery
performance. It should also improve the GPS acquisition time and upgrade the signal
lock in difficult conditions such as under tree canopies.
"
So...are they planning to send this update to all registered customers? I'm still waiting... |

Thanks mikealder and lucevans for your replies.
I will look forward to the upgrade to "hopefully" solve the satellite acquisition time and lock on.
I was sent an upgrade direct from Satmap before, with that and being a registered user i have assumed that the SD Card will turn up automatically. _________________ TomTom Go 60

I emailed Satmap last night to check I'm registered as pretty much everything new I have learned is from here rather than them inforrming us proactively. For instance, I have never had an email from them to say that any kind of firmware update or Satsync Beta was available...I found it all out here on this forum. _________________ I like mapping, I like mapping, I like mapping and I like to map! |
