TMC which is better phone or radio

I'm trying to decide on if a 920 is worth the extra over a 720 and one of the the big differences in the radion tmc on the 920.

Which is better radion or phone TMC or are they both pants!!!!

In 'most' cases, reception is far better using a connected mobile. RDS-FM TMC reception is patchy at best. In some areas it is great, others non-existent. Mobile phone reception is generally better across the board.

However, you have to factor in the costs of the data usage fees on your phone and the TRAFFIC subscription payable to tomtom if you choose to use a mobile.

For me, I just use the FM TMC as in my opinion the data either received over FM or mobile phone (it's the same data) is not reliable or accurate enough to pay for.

Also IMHO, the additional costs of the 920 are justified by the EPT and Remote Control as well as the TMC receiver and additional maps.
