I've bought a TomTom bluetooth GPS with Navigator 2, and trying to get it to work with an O2 XDA II. I've even downloaded GPS 2.09 as seen in a number of threads. All I get is "GPS disabled" at the bottom of the main screen. If I tap "GPS status" I get a dialogue box with "Unable to launch the GPS control panel."

Any ideas? I'm going to kill myself soon otherwise... Smile

Thanks for any help.

Tim

First off (and apologies if I'm way off here) but I thought the XDAII was not currently compatible with Bluetooth GPS receivers at the moment due to some issue with the BT Serial Port Profile?

If I missed an update that has resolved this and you have correctly 'paired' and connected the BT Receiver, then in the GPS Setup Section, have you correctly configured the GPS Type and COM Port and 'ticked' the box to the left to enable these settings?

I successfully paired the GPS receiver and the XDA II without any problems at all. But I can't see how to get to the "GPS setup section" ... this is probably my problem!!

Thanks

I'm not sure that being able to 'pair' the two devices proves that the BT SPP issue has been officially resolved, I know that there are workarounds but no official patch. Anyways......

To get to the GPS Set-Up Section, launch TTNav and if in 'Navigator' mode, tap the screen, then select 'More...' and the select 'GPS Status'. To do the same from 'Map' mode select 'File' GPS Status at bottom left.

GPS has three tabs. On the 'GPS' tab you need to configure the GPS Type you have (TomTom Wireless GPS?) and the BT Com Port that the XDA uses.

Once done you 'tick' the box adjacent to save and activate the settings. Whilst you're here move the slider next to the PDA icon to the Right to prevent the XDA from entering sleep mode whilst the GPS is active.

Switch to the Status Tab and a sequence of scrolling black dots between the GPS and PDA Icons indicates successful communication between XDA and GPS.

If all has worked so far then you need to stand outside and get a satellite fix Thumbs Up

Very many thanks - all seems fine now. If we were closer I'd buy you a beer :-)

Your fix seems to go right through the problem? Is there anything else that can be done?

Might be worth mentioning, I've tried removing Smart ST Pro and installing the navman driver found here.
