navman F20 failure

hi im wondering if anybody can help

my f20 says "bootloader 4.10.1014 built on jan 11 2007at 15:31:20
f20 failure. please return the unit to dealer"


The sat nav will not go past this screen no matter what i try. The PC doesnt recognise the navman when its like this so i cant upload the service pack

Please help as its out of warranty!

F20 has an internal micro SD card. This message means that there is something wrong with it.

If you dropped the unit it may have dislodged. In that case opening the unit and re-seating the card may help.

If card itself failed than there's nothing you can do except returning the unit to Navman for repair.

You could open the device as "TheM" mentioned but as most are still insidethe 2 year warranty why not book it in and get it repaired. The new reworked motherboard and firmware update will stop it comming back.
Alternatively connecting the device to a power source then turning on can sometimes by-pass
