So they are INSTAL discs not UPGRADE? So all your favourites, history and config. is erased?

Unless you can save the files out you will loose this info. I did not use mine in anger until this new version was out so never had information to save out. Others in the same boat as you may be able to advise though.
I was told to uninstall and re-install with the new CD's after I downloaded them couple of weeks ago.

Steve.

Yes, I would expect it to be treated as a new install. It all depends on whether D3 is designed to check for favourites and not obliterate them.

Hi Guys,

I emailed this to Destinator yesterday:

Hi Alice,

I received my Europe Destinator3 upgrade yesterday (Saturday March 20th) thank you very much to you and to all the staff at PowerLOC.

There's a couple of bugs I've encounted.

1) The verbal instruction to take exit 4 at a roundabout is missing, It say something like " Take roundabout Exit" then it just bleeps, omitting the spoken word 4.

2) Instead of giving the audible warning of roundabout which is 2 miles away, it mistakenly says " Take roundabout 3 miles"

I hope this feed back is of value to you and the PowerLOC team.

And heres Alice's reply:

Dear Pete:

Thank you for your e-mail and continuous support. If it is possible, could you please record these two routes and e-mail them to me? I willl forward them to our QA and support team for investigation. Thanks again for your help and patience!

Alice Man aman@powerloc.com

This is where I get stuck Confused , could I ask a favour Question , I am not up on computers Embarassed . I was wondering whether one of you guys could record the defects and email them onto Alice at PowerLOK

Cheers thanks very much guys Thumbs Up

Installed update last night. Haven't tried it out on the road yet. CD's are stamped with the same covers the original ones have. Identical so I was careful not to confuse them with the old ones.
The maps look updated (at least Washington DC ones do). The auto-check for Bluetooth device or GPS antenna at the beginning seems to be gone or quickly bypassed. It also asked to delete old maps when I was trying to install a new one.
This is like a new install, so unless you backup your favorites (I didn't because I don't know how), they'll be gone. Had to install software twice since I updated 2215 to the newly released 1.10 version.
So far so good. Will take it on the road this weekend and see if it's really an improvement.

When you're driving a route, they should make the turn signals and road label at the top of the page bigger since that is something I look at a lot. Either that or move it to the bottom of the screen. Evil or Very Mad

Funny thing is it didn't ask me to register when I removed the old version the first time and installed the new version. One I had to reinstall the new version due to updating the WM2003 to 1.10, then I had to re-enter the activation code. No biggie. Pretty simple.

I also found the round-about issue when it warns of the wrong distance and misses out the "third". However it does say third exit under some circumstances.

Also when driving along the M4 I was told to take a round-about as my next instruction rather than a junction followed by a round-about when leaving the motorway, but at least it has stopped telling you to bear right at every junction you don't need

I also see that the icon for a round-about has changed, it used to reflect the exit you were going to take, now its a very simple circle and arrow.
