Precisely what I said when I phoned them about it, their response was that it blows about when they empty the recycle bins. So I will put it in a paper bag then in the bin.
No we can't accept any recycle waste if it is in bags as they have to be emptied and we can't do that because we don't know what might be inside.

The mind boggles.

Hey any bright sparks out there. Thought you may be interested in this initiative that's backed by Madge especially if you have an inventive spirit. Also tips on smart eco driving and allsorts of great energy saving ideas. Anyway take a gander when you have a mo:

I'm intriqued by all the posts to my original one. I think most of us have accepted that going green isn't that bad but I am a great believer in incentives not taxes if we really want people to go green. Yes, not any more bloody taxes! We should be able to save money not spend it. That's why I like what they are trying to do achieve at http://www.climatechangechallenge.org
I think it is true that most of us don't mind looking after the environment as long as we don't get penalised when we try to.... eg higher train fares, increase in taxes on LPG etc, etc
As for Madonna backing these initiatives, yes she has got a high carbon footprint but she could also easily sit back and do nothing.

Unfortunately, this is the typical case of "do as I say, not as I do" and if these people really want Joe Public to sit up and take notice, then these celebs occasionally sitting back might not be a bad thing.

My recycle bin is twice as big as my waste bin and it's always overflowing well before collection day, so I'm not averse to the recycling idea - but I do object to these celebs trying to make a name for themselves shoving stuff down my throat when they're doing exactly what they're telling me NOT to do.
