Navigate to ...
Address ...
Spoken Address OR
Spoken Address (dialogue)

If the above are greyed out, you seem to have a bummer.

I've tried to make mine go grey by changing the speaker and changing the voice, but none of them affect it.

Try reseting the unit by poking the reset button underneath, if that doesn't recover the situation try the "Reset factory defaults" option in the change preferences menu - Mike

Send it back if it doesn't work correctly, I cannot think of anything else that disables this option, if the resets don't fix it - Mike

Hmmm, it sounds like they have shipped a USA style (no voice inputs by default) unit but somehow managed to install a Europe map. As a side note there may be some 'tinkerers' within the community who would appreciate a dump of the install....it may help to switch back 'on' missing voice input on USA models by comparing the files....

Andy_P2002 is that a way to get your posting count up?

Well done if so, it worked!

Cheap shot. Occasionally Andy tries to put a little humour into some puzzling problems. If you were to research his many posts, you'd find he doesn't need to consider his post count, because he is on here most days passing on very useful information. He happens to know more about sound than most people here and if he's baffled enough to resort to wry humour, you can guess there's not much to be done about it - if there was a cure for your problem, it's most likely Andy would know it. Blame me for his contribution if you must, because I sent him a PM drawing his attention to your problem in the expectation that if there was a cure, he'd know it.

Apology would be a good move.

Fair enough. I don't post that much so a n00b. In this case his humour wasn't helpful to me but I take the point, it's more his forum than mine.
All he actually did was insinuate I was an idiot.

If I'm supposed to apologise for feeling that way then sorry.

Apparently I need a cspeech directory and I don't have one on my unit. Does anyone know how big this directory is and is it zippable and uploadable?

Regards,
T
