Guys,

I have a new GO520 and am "just getting to know it"!

I thought that I would be able to insert an SD card containing MP3's and play them through the GO.. However I have inserted a card with MP3's on and the GO does not seem to detect the card.. Is there something else I should do or can I not do it??

Your help would be apprecited.

Thanks for now.

Andy.

Welcome to the forum, create a folder in the root of the SD card called mp3 (make sure the letters are lower case, or it won't work. Now put your mp3 files/ folders in to the folder named mp3 and it will work - Mike

"photos" Smile

Here's some further details of what you can put on your Go, and where...

Music files need to be .mp3
Audiobooks can be .aa or .mp3
Documents can be .txt or HTML ( .htm extension only?)
Pictures are .jpg or .bmp

They also need to be stored in the right place:
Music in a folder called "mp3"
Audiobooks in a folder called "audiobooks"
Text and html documents in a folder called "text"
Pictures in a folder called "photos"
(no quotation marks and no capital letters)

Music and pictures can be read from similarly named folders on BOTH the internal memory and an SD card, "Out of the box" audiobooks could only be seen on the internal memory until fixed in v7.210 software update.

TT say:
.jpg files must be 24 bit RGB or 24 bit Grayscale images.
.bmp files can be a maximum of 2040 x 2040 pixels in size.

For info of other users of Navcore 7: TT also say:
Note: Only TomTom GO 520/720 and TomTom GO 910 are able to play music and audiobooks. and:
Note: Only TomTom GO 720/520 and TomTom GO 910 are able to display photos and images in a slideshow.

Go 720 works with 16GB SDHC card, but must be formatted FAT32 and TTHome will not see it correctly. Use via card reader and unit works fine. If at home use smaller card for updating etc, but away from home phone will update. got traffic updates perfectly on Tuesday as normal
