Hi,
Has anyone changed the hard drive in a Go 700? Mine has started misbehaving and I suspect the HDD is reaching the end of its life. I keep getting file access errors when adding new addresses and unreliable booting up.

Given that most 1 inch hard drives have now been 'retired' would it be possible to use a compactflash card?

Is the drive in a compactflash housing?
Question

What size screwdriver is needed to get the device open?

After paying over £500 for it I am unwilling to let it die without trying to repair it.

Any information would be welcome. Question Question

Thanks for the advice. I am thinking of using a solid state card as a replacement because they have pretty much displaced the hard drives, and shouldn't fall prey to the same problems hard drives do in this application. Any information on what the Go 700 looks like inside & how to dismantle one would be welcome.
