Hi everyone please could someone let me know if there is any software on the market that will allow me to insert say 50 postcodes, and then sort them into the shortest route, then allow me to print it out.
I bought aa route planner but its not even as good as the free one on the net. Evil or Very Mad
Any ideas or comments will be greatly appeciated. :D

Thanks in advance dareyoutostare

MS Autoroute will do what you require for shortest route. You can print Driving Directions.

If you only want to know the order of the sorted Postcodes only you would also need a program called ITNConv, which can generate a CSV File for you to Print.

Isn't it called TYRE or something?

Trouble is, NONE of these is any good for multidrop (I'm a whitevanman). We need one by which we can load waypoints (postcodes, addresses) into our satnav, then press button B for it to Optimise and give the best route.
But to be honest, there's nothing out there to beat the map in the head of a good local experienced multidrop driver - he'll know all the "no right turns" which the device doesn't AND he'll make all the illegal right and U turns the device wouldn't!! Plus, he'll know the places where he can stop at the end of one street to make a drop in the next one without driving into it.
dareyoutostare you did mention printing, so maybe you get the opportunity to do planning before setting off (or for someone else) in which case Oldboy's suggestion of MS Autoroute Express is the answer. You might consider looking out for an older secondhand copy if price is a problem.

The way I'm talking about is where you set it up the optimisation in Autoroute or Google Earth and save, then use a freebie to convert to .itn (itinerary) to import into TT. Your own address will be shown so has to be deleted from the itn, then off you go.

I tried it some time back and it worked well. The good thing is you can save a number of itineraries if you travel over the route a number of times.

I'll have another look to see if I can find the details. No bed for me tonight then. :P

Ive been asking for a while in regards to using tomtom,

But ive been using co-pilot, its what your looking for, you type in maybe 50 addressess, and one click can autoroute for the best way.
