This has been asked and answer previously in this forum, use search to find that thread.

The 570 has an option int he settings to turn the GPS off and on. From memory there is a bug where sometimes it says its one when it isn't. Turn it off and save the change then turn it back on to be sure.

Don't do anything till you have installed Leadtek's Winfast Navigator. Once this is reporting a GPS fix etc, and it's all working, switch to TT or Smart St.

Also remember that only one appication can access the GPS at a time, and PPC's being what they are, it's hard to tell whats running. Until you are super-expert/Geek on PPC, Soft reset it before starting a new application. That is the only way I know for a novice to be certain the GPS is not being used by something else. Obviously there are other, arguably better ways, but they require doing and knowing a LOT more than pressing that little button......

So heres how it goes.
a) Download and install Leadtek WInfast Navigator.
B) Soft reset the PIN
C) Open Winfast, Tools, Port Settings - select the GPS port (Can't remember which one for the 570, select NMEA and BAUD = 9600 (I think, although it may be 4800)
D) Select connect, in the right hand bottom corner of the screen look for the blue flashing icon.
E) Select View / Development.l You should see a whole lot of stuff on the screen, starting with $GPxxx,...........

If D and E are not happening, change to another port. If E is showing rubbish, change the Baud rate. Once D and E are happening, you should do a Hardware reset, and go outside and wait for a fix.
