|
|
Dear Fellow members,
Is there anywhere on this website where I can submit new speed cameras locations (such as Gatso's, red-light etc) using the latitude and longitude co-ordinates from the selected OV file from TOM TOM Go 500?
The submission map takes forever to load on my PC and I don't really want to download the Pocket GPS world camera POI capture software if I can avoid it.
I am happy to continue to submit new cameras (when I come accross them) even though I already have a lifetime membership to this website. preferable by latitude and longitude co-ordinates.
Cheers in advance for your help,
Batties |

Yes you can.
On the same page just above the map are two coloured lines. Click on the yellow one to get the single camera submission form where you enter Lat/Long. Only problem is that the accuracy of the position is much better on the map than on the satnav, so I'd say the best way is to enter your co-ords in the "find location" bar just above the map (Use a minus sign for West or South co-ordinates NOT the letters) and then "find". That way the map only has to be drawn once.
If you are happy with the position, click "update location" to put those numbers into the submission form. If not, drag the map until the (timy) centre cursor is in the right place and then click "update location".
Alternatively, if you click on the blue bar, you can send in your whole ov2 file and not have to type any co-ordinates at all! |

Can you not submit the OV file by clicking on the blue "Expand for OV2 Submission Form" and submitting it there? Above the yellow line. |

Not sure exactly why it says that, probably just to get the best accuracy.
But if you do as I suggested, put the lat/long into the "find location" box and then hit the "update" box immediately, I think it will put your numbers into the form without the map having to draw at all. (can't check for sure as my map draws too quickly to tell!)
Or there's the ov2 file method. |

cos we got FAR too many submissions with poor coordinates in fields, in rivers, in the indian ocean... and THEN got told by some that it was obvious where the submission was and i should have known where to move it to... grrr!!
