How would someone go about...

correcting a specific POI downloaded from this site.

You have a method of submitting new POI's but how would we correct POI's to keep the database correct.

eg. Local to me I have found a BP Station POI, which is now a Jet POI and a Texaco garage which is about 400 yards in the wrong place.

Or is it not worth updating?

On the Submit POIS form this is a drop down list where you can choose from Add New | Confirm | Change or Renew.

You can use these options to change incorrect existing POIs or to change the details of others.

We welcome these kinds of change, the more accurate the better for all, just ensure you make notes in the text field to ensure the changes are accepted.
