There is another way. Keeping your foot on the accelerator, gently touch the brake pedal with the other foot, enough to bring on the brake lights without slowing. The A6 driver who was so close I could see the hairs up his nostrils in my mirror, dropped back so quickly you could feel him wondering how the heck I'd gone from brakes to 100 yards ahead! Cool

VW, Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Porsche drivers should all be condemned to occupy a Reliant Robin (Well, maybe more than one. Well, no, only one).

They should also be required to properly maintain the roads they own (they own them all).

You could say that for any make of car van truck etc theres good and bad drivers, driving all makes but there are some of us that drive sensibly and don't get involved in accidents often.

In all the years and miles i have driven, Three and all the fault of other careless drivers.

1 Driving a truck when a car changed lanes without checking and hit the
offside front of the truck I was driving with the nearside of his
car. Crying or Very sad
2 A car transporter took the offside (from back to front) off my
lovely shiny new red Volvo estate in the dartford tunnel. Crying or Very sad
3 A cavalier drive not paying attention hit me in the tailgate when i was
sat at set of traffic lights at RED. Crying or Very sad

I don't tail gate, I give space to motorcyclist, (have been 1 for many years) driving HGV's, Buses & coaches occasionally I also appreciate there prospective of other road users.

Oh alright then. Tell you what, you being a good driver, you can drive the transporter carrying the Reliant Robin full of all the other VW, Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Porsche drivers. And you can do the stop and go signs whilst they mend the potholes. Can't say fairer than that, now can I?

Ahem!

Whilst it apears I've missed a bit here, it seem I need to inject some official advanced driving tech in to the post.

Dennis- Can't help you with your signature problem, However you have had a go at golfs and at audi's, so if your super gotom is up the swany, then have a go at tomtom, and when you can think up something good come back a see me.

Wiz- Get an Audi, A3 is way better than a golf, esp if you can do without some of the toys, which to be honest arn't ever realy worth the money anyway. Plus it'll wind up DentN no end! Twisted Evil

Rest of the Anti Tailgating Society- Book of advanced drivers says you should give a little more room in front of you so in an emergency breaking situation you will have provided enough distance for you and the tailgater. Although the other driver may not apreciate this or ever know you have done this for him you will feel better for your good deed. Unofficially I do enjoy the maditory flashing of the head lights as he passes to show your appreciation of his driving, even if he does give you the finger.

The trouble with showing the idiot behind your brake lights is that as soon as they've realised you're not actually slowing down, they come right back up to your bumper, inhaling your exhaust fumes because they've forgotten the hosepipe to make use of their own emmissions.

In a moment of amusement, I even considered buying one of those LED message boards for the rear window but instead of a boring "back off" message, I was thinking more along the lines of "Come closer, suck harder on my exhaust and make me ***** quicker" but that wouldn't work either because that message includes words of more than one syllable.
