Ignoring the very silly posts above and to get this "Off Topic" slightly back to on "Off Topic" - Where are U going for summer hol's ?
Allo-Allo was written to have the humour of Germany, France and England as of being equal, so not depicting any Country in a biased manner.
Now some are going to France or Germany for holidays this year and we are supposedly equal under the EU, as British do you think we are so far different?
The French call us "rosbifs" and in return we call them "frogs".
In Germany "don't mention the war".
Although the French can be rude (I have only found this around the port areas) you can't blame them having to put up with the drunken English, go further inland or away from the ports and there are some splendid French people.
In Germany they might be a bit structured and cautious, but they know what they want and make it known, unlike us Brit's who are more easygoing and don't always complain - just put up with it.

I drove through germany a while ago on my way to the Chezk Republic, and I can honestly say the best bit I saw was the back of it! Thank god for the Autobhan as it ment I only had to endure so much!

I lived in Germany for 4 years and apart from their awful fashion sense found them to be warm and welcoming. Like most of our continental cousins all that is needed is a small bit of effort on our part, try to speak a little of the local language and they will respond well.
I still fondly recall a night in a local bar where we were introduced to Schnapps, and they have many many varieties! I recall log conversations with the hosts that evening, I spoke very little German, they spoke very little English but the Schnapps sorted out that little problem <HIC> _________________ Darren Griffin

I have visited many areas of Germany from the industrial areas of the North and West to Bavaria (the winter is best) further South, both for pleasure and business.
I have never had a problem with the people and like them, despite the war always cropping up when the Brit's mention Germany, I find that the majority of Germans are not anti-British as the media makes out and the young are embarrassed by the war and wish to move on.
It has some beautiful scenery and buildings and is strikingly clean compared to England.

I have owned four Audi's and my Quattro turbo gave me a lot of speeding points, however i have had several Japanese cars, the latest is a Honda Accord - so much better, I have moved on. _________________ TomTom Go 60

I have found that the Japanese cars far exceed the German's on every front foremost on reliability.
I had a Mazda626 years ago that coped with 55,000 miles a year, with the utmost abuse on services, as at that time i only repaired it when it went wrong, I didn't take it to a garage unless i had to. This took me to the Mazda6 which went around corners as if it was on tracks.
The build quality of Japanese is superb, having owned four Audi's i would prefer Jap' cars any day, although i know that we all have different requirements from our "second home".
My Honda's engine is "V" tech which gives two engines in one, one for economy and the second for performance, this engine has proved to be ultra reliable. _________________ TomTom Go 60

Agreed, they do make good engines. One day in the not so distant future, the body work will have long since rusted away, but the engine will be still running as new! _________________ Dom

Never had any "bodywork problems" and my car body panels are OK as well thanks.
I have a Mazda626 in my drive (K reg) which started first time the other day after 16 months standing and other than faded paintwork (sitting in the sun) no rust!

I'm off in the 1st week of August to Broxbourne, my niece is doing a weeks work experience at the Safari Park. Was in Salzburg earlier this year, now that was a beautiful place.
