PC World say the 720 will be available on 6 July 07 and the 520 will be available on 20 July 07. (Sorry no link it was full of session values so I did not think it would work).
Any on line shop people here have any more info for the impatient ones amongst us
Cheers

I would suspect that both are complete rubbish. The latter part of July at the earliest I would guess and more likely Aug. _________________ Darren Griffin

I can't wait to pick up a 520, but can anyone tell me will tomtom release a carry case at the same time? I guess that the 520 will not come with a carry case? Could I use an XL case?

The size is almost identical to the XL, so it might fit. Somewhere I have some pictures that I took in Cannes of the cases. I'll see if I can dig them out.

Who's going to replace their current 510/710 for these new models?
Probably me - I'm that daft I pre-ordered a 910 February 2006 and didn't get it until May, then got rid of it. Probably won't be able to resist this new toy. I may have a problem with registering it though - I don't want yet another e-mail address thank you!!! _________________ Dennis
Thanks for uploading the pics, is the bottom picture a hard case? The soft ones dont seem to protect the screens that well. You don't happen to know if the cases will be released at the same time do you?

The cases were inside display cases but yes, I think the bottom one was a hard metal case. I'm afraid I have no idea as to when they will be available, bt I'dimagine that TomTom would try and get everything to market at the same time. _________________ Tim

:D Well I know from past experience how unreliable TomTom dates are, but also Dixon's, PCWorld & Currys (Same company) always get hold of these units before anyone else.
I called Dixon's today, and they said that the 6/7 is the date TomTom will releasing the products to them, and they will be available shortly after this. Their price seems good, RRP £329, pre order price of £319, I then said I didn't like paying for P&P so the lady gave me free P&P, I then asked for the 10JULYAW code to be applied.
The final price being £309.99 delivered, if the date is wrong I can cancel the order, so i've got nothing to loose.

Tim,
I take it that the TMC will be an add-on like the existing models? Any indication, yet, whether it will a) work and b) be available at launch or soon thereafter? Also any indication of price? _________________ Jock

We can't comment on details such as this yet as the embargo is still in place, sorry. _________________ Darren Griffin

I feared as much, are you able to say when the embargo will be lifted or is that, too, embargoed until the embargo is lifted? Or can't you tell me if that info is embargoed until the embargo is lifted? (Chicken ... egg ... Chicken ... egg ... ... ) _________________ Jock

I suspect that the embargo will be lifted on Friday, TomTom have a past record of releasing updates on Fridays.
