Who at PGPSW gave Dennis permission to go away on holiday?

Your Chief IT - it must have been you who let him back in.

Did he bring you back a stick of rock or an international speed camera?

I was referring to UK Immigration. Sadly Corfu has yet to even be mapped for GPS yet alone have the wonders of GATSO thrust upon them. I'm off there in August and shall have to resort to a paper map, god forbid!

I'm going back again on 31st August!!

Two reports from this latest holiday -
Firstly, I went to the pool and was introduced to somebody who said "Ah, so you're the Dennis".
Secondly, I was in the pool when somebody came by and said "Hello, Dennis". No idea who he was.
Thirdly, I lost a small fortune betting one Euro at a time against an Italian friend - sport was cricket highlights on telly. I think he'll be there again in September, so I'm looking for a set of dominoes and Tiddley Winks to get my money back. Maybe I lost because this is the third of two reports? 8O

You could leave a sign somewhere saying "Hello, Dennis". Laughing Maybe I should add "Hello Dennis" signs to my sales stocks to complement my hand crafted reset tools?

Darren,I have some maps of corfu that I used on my 60c when I went there last year...they are not super accurate or routable but you can see where you are on them. If you wantt o give it a go I will dig out my backup files as I had to replace the HDD on my lappy. I think they are .tif calibrated to .map files ..not by me I may add .I may have got it from : http://www.cgpsmapper.com/ but not sure.

Excuse my ignorance but do these require I use a Garmin or will they work on something like OziExplorer?

I know but you know what it's like, GPS really comes into its own normally on such occasions, new country, strange hire car etc. We have to find a villa which is set out on its own in the middle of nowhere. Now hopefully James Villas will have a detailed routeplan but I don't like leaving these things to chance!

You display the .map file in OziExplorer which I think may have been used to calibrate them as .map's are what Oz converts the scanned images to after calibration so maybe they can be sent to a Pda( I havn't tried it on my 2210) but I used them on my Garmin. I did photograph a Corfu map supplied by a car hire firm which had more detail and calibrated that in Oz when I got home as I had saved lots of tracks and waypoints to use for reference points but i can't find backups of them.

Thanks, I have just found a fairly decent ozi format map of Corfu which I'll try, it should be good enough for my needs!

I don't suppose there's a Corfu map that'll work on my TT GO? Oh, and watch out for the pot hole in the road to Paleocastritsa - should be OK, it's marked by a stone painted red (at least it was in 1973, 1975, 1979 etc, although sometimes the stone wasn't painted or had washed clean).
