I know all the talk of men are better than women drivers can get a bit long in the tooth and boring, but nows the time to be 100% honest. Do you men really and truly think women drivers are rubbish? Or do you just go along with everyone else?

Personaly I think its an equal thing, women can do just as much wrong as men when it comes to driving but men seem to think that any accidents or near misses are ALWAYS caused by women drivers, yet according to statistics we do make the safest drivers. I think its because we dont feel we have anything to prove, I mean men seem to compete with each other a lot when it comes to driving, yet us women seem to just get on with it.

Personally i think there are good drivers, average drivers and poor / bad drivers.

I don't women are any worse than men but i think it's noticed more when women do it though. When a woman drives badly it's seen as stupid and clumsy but if a man does it then it seen as more arrogant driving than bad driving.

I think women are very dangerous drivers and don't take other road users into consideration, they seem to have an attitude that they are the only ones on the road and nobody else should get in their way.

And the worst thing about this is they normally have babies strapped in car seats and that alone is so wrong when they are cutting people up and driving far to fast for their capabilities.

And don't even get me started on women and mobile phones whilst they are driving!!!

I'm 100% sure the highway code to a woman is a thing they have to discard as soon as possible after passing their test on the 40th attempt!!

The truth, you can't handle the truth Laughing Laughing Laughing

that is a very harsh post classy, I have been driving for 10 years and havent had one single accident, not even come close to having one. How can you say women are dangerous thats such an unfair thing to say.

I take it your one of those people who believe women should be banned from driving and chained to the kitchen sink. Does you wife drive and do you feel the same way about her?

My ex Husband only said a bad thing about my driving once and I just stopped the car, pulling up in a safe place of course, and got out leaving him there, I refused to get into the car with him again. I take it from your avatar you are a coach or bus driver, well let me tell you I have had a few near missies where they are concerned, just because they have bigger vehicles they think THEY own the road, lorry drivers are the same.
Please dont judge all women by a few you have seen and believe were dangerous, more accidents are caused by men FACT.

The truth, you can't handle the truth Wink told you so Rolling Eyes

Not harsh at all, you asked for honesty, you got it.

It's not unfair to say women are dangerous at all, that is my honest opinion going by the appalling standards I have witnessed.

Chained to the kitchen sink?? where the hell did that come from? Oh I see because I think women are bad drivers I'm a male chauvinist pig Rolling Eyes

Yes my wife does drive, and she is an excellent driver.

I quote you "havent had one single accident, not even come close to having one." and another quote "well let me tell you I have had a few near missies", well which one is it?

I will let you into a secret, the first thing that you are taught when driving a large vehicle is to command the road, if you don't it would take you all day to travel 10 feet!! Lets be fair when was the last time you gave way voluntarily to a coach/bus as required by the highway code?

Trust me I am not judging my opinion on just a few examples of bad women driving, we are talking thousands.

Like a female once said, "i've never had a single accident, I have seen hundreds in my rear view mirror though"

You asked a question and asked for honesty, if as you claim you are an exemplary driver then why should my comments wind you up so much?

If someone said some coach drivers are rubbish, it wouldn't worry me at all, because obviously they are not referring to me. I'm a good driver me is Wink

I think it might be a good idea if you feel the need to reply to do so by PM Idea

Well, before you two start trading by PM, perhaps a contribution from someone older than Oldboy might put a more even slant on the matter ...

My "knocks" over the last 45 years are :-
1. MGBGT pulled out of a side road and bashed my door in. Male driver, his fault. Strange world - he'd not had the car long, had apparently walked into the Glasgow MG Dealer and said "I'll take that one" - Wouldn't you just love to do that? I traced him to pursue my claim by phoning the dealership after he only identified himself as Jones of Machynlleth!
2. Ford Cortina Mk II pulled out in front of me. Male driver, his fault, uninsured, taking and driving without consent (his brother's car for the nth time). About 3 years of occasional postal orders for a couple of pounds to get my claim back.
3. Bristol bus gently but firmly taking control of the road, passed me when I was motionless in a traffic jam and squished my rear wheel arch with his.
4. Female driver in front didn't keep going when she set off out of a junction, so I gently eased forward and nudged her rear bumper. No damage due to my taking brilliant avoiding action by braking.
5. Female driver behind failed to reverse when I rolled back on a hill start (slope start actually). No damage due to my taking brilliant avoiding action by braking.
6. 70mph male pheasant head butted my radiator grill on M56. Pheasant's fault.
7. 70mph deer head butted my front offside corner on M5. Deer's sex unknown - not enough of it left joined together to determine what parts it had, but there were no horn marks on the van. Deer's fault.

So there you have it. Even the world's best white van driver can have accidents - all caused by the bad road users who came my way. If we assume that the 70mph deer was female, that's a ratio of 4 men to 3 women in my experience. There are megga mathematicians on this forum somewhere who can no doubt extrapolate those figures into a more reasonable set, taking due consideration of the low sample rate and the relative male/female split in the population of people, deer and pheasants. Enjoy. Surprised

Many women on our roads are respectable business leaders that now drive like them too.
The stereo type slick salesman in his BMW is joined by the mobile phone wearing businesswoman in her Rangerover.
