Is it possible to add your own shortcuts to the Today menu?

That will add shortcuts on the Start Menu but I'm not certain that's what was being asked?

You can't create your own items on the 'Today' Screen but there are many 3rd party plug-ins that can be downloaded. What did you have in mind?

If it's a program you want to add just go settings -> menus

check the box for whatever program you want to add (max of 9 so you might have to juggle a bit).

I want to have a large icon on the Today screen (like on the PC Windows Desktop) and not on the start menu. I want to put POI-Warner on the Today screen so when driving in the car I can touch it to start the program without have to fiddle through the start menu which are a little small to locate with a finger when concentrating on the road.

The new GPS 2.09 TomTom Wizard puts a similar icon on the Today screen for TomTom.

I realise that POI-Warner can be autostarted, but that is not what I want to do.

It's not quite what you are asking for but why not assign POI-Warnet to one of the hardware buttons? I have mine configured to launch CheckPOInt in a similar fashion. The button can be easily selected when moving.
