In the car the battery will last a very long time, if connected to the the 12V Adapter. ;)

A 2 hour charge should be ample for the first charge.

You should be able to get 2-3 hours use out of the internal 510 battery.

hi oldboy! ,, not very long then,,, best to keep the lead in situ then all the time i reckon!! the guy in halfords said 6-8 hours but since buying it on friday i've seen its no where near that figure...

i'm very new to sat nav ,,, can you plumb in to the car perm,,,(just the mount and power that is, so the unit can come out at night ) without using the cig lighter (i.e open ended power cable hard wired in?..

Thanks for your help... the 510 seems a handy little gadget so far....

A lot of people do just that. Be aware that you will need an inline Fuse and the 12 to 5 V adapter.
