Problem with TomTom Home

After being a long time TomTom user (v3 and v5) I recently replaced my iPAQ with an O2 XDA Orbit - which came with Copilot. Copilot works OK but I find myself missing TomTom for ease of use so I've just logged onto the website and bought the latest maps of Western Europe which apparantly comes with Navigator v6.

Now - how do I load these maps and software onto my device? I've downloaded and installed TomTom Home, but when I try to login I just get an error "We could not log you in, please try later". I've been getting this for the last few hours now.

Is TomTom Home generally unreliable?

Can other people log into it?

Am I doing something wrong?

You don't need TomTom Home. Download the files and extract them to the storage card. Then execute the ttn.cab file directly on the PDA. The one additional thing you need is at least one voice file combo.

How do I download the maps without TomTom Home? I'm presuming that's how I actually get hold of them!

You will need TT Home to download the maps. You could try the older version of TT Home (v1.3) as some people have had more success with it.
