Hi,

I am toying with the idea of knocking up my own GPS Speedo, but would like to use the Speed Camera warnings along side it.

I currently use TT6 with the Speed Camera DB and it works great, but I really hate the fact that the speed turns red when I slightly stray over the limit, I just cannot read it at all.

Is there any software I can use that will warn me in the background while using the Speedo?

Many Thanks,

Paul.

I think the best option to have a look at is the T-Chart GPS Speed Sentry application which does offer speed warnings and speed camera warnings with the latest version of the software - very good in use and excellent displays, as it covers speed and recording of speed / graphs etc there is little point in developing your own application, the overspeed warning can be manual or auto depending on the speed camera you are approaching well worth looking at see Here - Mike

Hmm,

Just tried it from work and got the following.

Access Is Blocked

The Websense category Malicious Web Sites is Filtered

8O

**** Update ****

I checked it out, but I really want it to use the POI's rather then set speeds.

Thanks though.

Hi mrralphman,

Not sure if you didnt get what Mike was saying.

GPS Speed Sentry works in two ways;

Method #1 - You manually select the speed limit based on seeing a speed sign. This is effective for long trips on motor ways etc where the speed is unlikey to change often.

Method #2 - Load up the Speed camera POI file. This works in conjuction with method #1. When you approach a camera you will get warnings about the camera. However if youve enabled the option the speed limit will be also be switched to reflect the speed limit of the camera. Essentially this leaves the switching of the speed limit to the application The switch can also be permanent (until you change it manually or encounter another camera) or just temporary (it changes back after you have passed the camera).

With method 2 you get warned about the fact that there is a camera approaching as well as audible warning that you are above the speed limit for that camera.

Since the sofwtyare is free to try youve really got nothing to lose?

Regards
Trevor Hart

Although this was for the new version of the software.

The one I downloaded didn't display properly with my VGA Axim X50v in landscape mode.

Can you tell me when the new version comes out?
