I sent my i3 for repair (under warranty). I used to get "please insert transflash.." even when the unit is giving me direction. Also takes forever to get a signal even when external antenna is plugged in.

Since this is discontinued item, Would they send me a new i3 , a different model or credit me back?

Just wondering especially for people who has dealt with Garmin warranties.

Hi Matrix, I sent mine back (under warranty) about 5 weeks ago and got a new one back within 4 working days.

Reading posts here, Garmin's after sales service is 2nd to none.

When my i3 had to go to be repaired, posted it Monday morning and a replacement unit was delivered to me Thursday morning of the same week.... quality service. :D

Here is the story, Laughing Out Loud!

I sent my i3 to an authorized service in Canada (only 1 in canada). They said the turn around is 2 weeks from the time they received it. They don't have the i3 in stock right now so I'm stuck if my unit has to be replaced. They said they have to order from garmin US (if available) ship it to them and ship it back to me. Since this unit is already discontinued at Garmin, I am looking at a month or less to have a gps.

So I guess it is a different story here in North America.

Garmin Europe have been good to me a couple of time.

I guess most of Europeans pity you guys in Canada and the US, what you Colonials have to put up with in your third world living standards and conditions must be hard. Rolling Eyes
We have express motorized delivery services here and I can even get computer parts from the far east in under 36 hours.
I guess that Wells Fargo stage coach from the States still takes its time changing horses etc, and have they sorted out those Indians yet ? Wink
I guess they are to busy with that with the US Cavalry playing in the desserts and sorting out Iraq Laughing
