From Sky News:
Quote:
Organisers of the Gumball 3000 Rally have closed the race down following a fatal accident involving two British drivers. Nicholas Morley and Matthew McConville were taking part in the event when they hit another car in Macedonia, killing the driver.
With the speed some cars are travelling when involved in the 'Rally' it had to happen! Sad
Hope other injuries are minor and genuine commiserations to the family of the dead driver. Sad

From the picture I saw it didn't look like a really high-speed crash, but of course we don't know the full circumstances.

But apparantly the two drivers involved left the scene and tried to cross the border! Not acceptable behaviour at all.

There's an awful lot of rumour and conjecture surrounding this incident. One site reports that it was the Gumball driver who called Police/Ambulance services and both driver and CoPilot handed themselves over to local Police and were held overnight pending enquiries.

If they were to blame then they deserve all they get but until we know then full story we ought to hold off from pronouncing judgements.

That's it, blame it on the Satnav!

Last I heard was they called the ambulance, then left when it arrived. Time will bring out the facts, I'm sure. Interestingly they've only been detained so far for leaving the scene of an accident, not for reckless driving etc.
