Only occasionally when I hit either a large pot hole at speed, or go over a speed ramp without slowing down, even so when it does this the music returns to the FM system after a short delay - mostly the unit stays docked and the sound is continuous, what car are you experiencing this in? - it could be the mount or the 910's locking mechanism is broken, as it sounds like the unit is bouncing off the contact strip for a brief moment - Mike

I am using it in a hackney taxi on the front window screen :D
Think thats what it must be its losing its connection,is it that scart looking connection between mount and unit?
Its happening too often now every little bump and it goes off,the FM TRANS doesn't come back on itself either Confused The FM icon on screen goes off screen too until i push it together again.

I have gone back to my original replacement 2nd mount now :D

Its not bad quality at all so long as you can find a free space on the FM band to tune it to thus avoiding interference from other radio stations on close adjacent channels. It works fine for me in most areas with an exception of around London where you simply cannot find a free frequency to tune to (not the fault of the device).
The quality is not as good as a wired connection, neither is it as good as a Bluetooth audio connection which is very good, this later method does involve a compatible stereo in the car which can cost a significant amount of cash. - Mike

Sorry to disagree Mike but the sound on mine is pretty apauling. I have to have sound on radio very loud to hear anything, in fact to be honest I dont use it any more and found it to be a total waste of my hard earned dosh. If I could get a refund i would.

Just received a new FM Transmitter mount from TomTom which I ordered on Sunday. Connected it all up and the sound is really good. I thought I may have problems as I drive a 7 seater and the ariel is rear side window integrated but it works really well.
However, I noticed a few weeks ago that you couldn't order off the website as not in stock and I have also read that a newer version was due out. Could I have the newer model?
The part number is P/N : 2V00.100.
The housing for the various connections is semi transparent.

For me it's the other way around, if I use the aux input on my stereo (Sony in dash 6 disc unit, Ford Mondeo) I have to crank the volume way up and there is not much bass, a real pain when the traffic signal cuts in from the radio. Yet from the FM mount (87.9) I get great sound, a little hiss yes, but apart from that it's fine.
