I'm trying to figure out how a gps navigator work. Once the gps receiver got the info from the satelites, it transmit the info in the form of NMEA string to the com port of the navigator. The navigator receives the NMEA string and map it onto the map it has.

Is it like that ?

I've a HP Ipaq hw6965 pda mobile phone with gps built-in. Installed Garmin Cue with maps. Also installed gpsproxy as the gateway for virtual com port. I've a NMEA data to be fed to Garmin Cue software so that I may view the location using the Garmin Cue map.

Question is...how do I achieve this ?

Any help ? TIA !

I'm not familiar with Garmin Cue and a quick Google doesn't help, what exactly is it?

A GPS supplies the data in GPS Sentences (the NMEA data). This is presented on a COM Port. Your GPS Software should be configured to read the data on the relevant COM port. In your case whichever COM Port your 6965 uses.

It's Garmin Que which is their older PPC app and it's being (been) replaced by Garmin Mobile XT. It is generally tied to a Garmin receiver (I have an original GPS 10) but this can be bypassed by using an app. like GPSGate (I asume that GPSProxy is a similar app).

iwondery, can you use the Garmin receiver and if so, does that work? If so, it's probably the gpsproxy comport settings.
