Fugawi installation problem

I wanted to install Fugawi marine ENC on a win2000 PC but by mistake clicked NEXT before filling in the license number. Then, I couldn't backtrack so I aborted the installation.



Trying to start anew, the installation proces halts with a message box that it can't find the data1.cab file. This file is right there on the CD but there is no way to point to it. Probably, something already got written to registry in my first fumbled move, and now this something has to be deleted (How/where?) before installation can be perormed.

The problem is in reading a .cav file. I got "error 1311" in another install ation on same computer and found the following answer on annoyances.org:

Yeah, if you're on a network, share the drive and run setup.exe from the share name, rather than the literal folder. I did this on a university network, and had no trouble. Not sure why this works, but it does circumvent the problem.....

Actually, you don't need to go to another computer, just access your shared CD drive via the network icon and run set up. It has worked with Mapsource and now Fugawi. Bingo
