Nav-cam 7700, no GPS

My Nav-cam 7700 has recently produced a new fault. On selecting "Navigator" from the main menu, then "follow map", it announces "No GPS" and after a few seconds returns to the main menu page but with all the buttons inoperative (locked out).

A soft reset leaves the buttons inoperative, a hard reset restores the status quo. If I go to the satelite page it shows seven satelites being picked up with strong signals from five of them. Walking across my garden shows a speed of 3 to 5 mph, so there appears to be some disfunction in the navigator program. Unfortunately, when I bought this disappointing piece of kit from Evesham they neglected to supply a disk which would allow me to reload the program.

Any wizards out there with a suggestion for a solution?

Don't even talk to me about an outfit that took £30 off me in March for speed camera updates, when they were already in receivership!
