TomTom 720 Text to speech clarification

Hi All,

I am wanting to purchase a TT720. I am a little confused about it's text to speech feature.

Does the 720 read out the road names? I have read in some places it doesn't but seen screenshots on younav.com that would suggest it does.

I know it has the ability to read out sms's etc but can anyone confirm the above.

Yes, that is part of the TTS feature. It will only read out SMS messages from compatible 'phones. Compatibility is listed on TomTom's website and is updated now and again.

Mine does (uk version), you need to go into voice preferences then speech preferences to set it.

i'm not hugely worried about the sms reading it's mainly the road names etc.

Where is the cheapest place online to get the 720 at the moment easydevices?

I'm particularly interested in the speaking of sms messages. Has anyone found any phones that work with this feature that are not on the compatibility list please?
