.ov2 is the correct format. However each device has a limit on the maximum number of POIs files that can be displayed. How many have you installed?

The two files (ov2 and bmp) are correct....

To count the number of user-poi files you have, the ONLY reliable way is to connect to the PC and count the number of ov2 files in your map folder using Windows Explorer. (Things like the TT-supplied speed camera database are also ov2 files but they don't show up in the POI list).

We also need to know what software version you are running (tap the signal strength bars and read it from the small box on the next screen).

Software Version is 7.161 which I think is the most up to date.

Including all of the Speed Camera files 40 in total. I assume that you can not delete the Pre-loaded POI's for Yachts, Vets etc?

OK with that software version you should be able to load at least 100 user-POIs, so that's not the problem.

Silly question - you have 'enabled' them in the menu? (Change preferences/Show POI on map)

You could also download a copy of POI Edit and use that to just check they are usable files and not corrupted.

You can't delete the built-in POIs (well you can, but only by deleting ALL of them!), butt hey do not count towards the total of user-added ones allowed.

We've just been looking at how to speed up the POI page and noticed a discrepancy between what we advertise (318,000) and what is actually in the database. Basically, not being a database savvy kind of person, I copied all the individual POI entries, in one hit, directly from the POI page and pasted into a spreadsheet to autosum, but also picked up the category subtotals in error. Sorry guys, we only have a total of about 166,000 I'm afraid, half of what we thought we had Sad

Hi everyone. Pocketgpsworld virgin (and a Silver Surfer to boot) so please treat me gently!

I've downloaded the BT Hotsopts POI (successfully according to the wizard) but can't find them anywhere. HELP

My GPS is a Garmin Nuvi 760T and I've just returned from a 3000 mile tour of europe and it was brilliant. Right to the front door of our hotel in Warsaw!!!!

Where do I look and what do I do to find my new POI's?

They usually download as 18040_POIs.ZIP (They do in my case) irrespective of the category type, so search for this file and then unzip, for some reason they always use this name, so will overwrite if you have already downloaded some others, I get into the habit of changing and renaming them as I download.

The 18040 part is your user number on the forum so in Parsley19's case they should be 271389_POIs.zip

Well I finally cracked it!! For anyone else struggling, here's the answer.

Go to "Where to" and scroll down to "Extras". There you will find your newly installed POI's

Not bad for a "Silver Surfer" eh!!!!!

Hi Darren,

It's at http://www.wetroads.co.uk

I created a .ov2 & .kml POI database for them years ago, but it's badly out of date. I see they now have GB in .csv and .kml format.

I'm working on one for Tolls - want it when it's ready?
