I recently purchased an Ipaq 4150 and Copilot Live v. 4.5. I'm very impressed with both products, and I was able to get up and running with GPS quickly. I have a few questions regarding both products:

1) How do I adjust the backlight on the Ipaq to stay on longer than 5 min's on battery power or 10 min's on external power? If I take a long trip I don't want to have to tap the screen every 5 or 10 min's to be able to see the screen. Is anyone on this forum able to see the screen without the backlight?

2) How do I find the closest POI's from my exact location? If I'm at an intersection in downtown Los Angeles and I need cash, how can I find an ATM near my current location. I know how to find a POI in a given city, but not how to find one from my current GPS track.

3) Has anyone tried an extended battery in their Ipaq 4150? How long do they last compared to the standard batteries?

Thanks very much.

Let's assume 4.5.29. is the same as 4.0.4.104 ( i can't see any difference here) - to get the list of POIs close to your curent location just tap on the "pin" icon, and it should already give ou the POIs, sorted by distance from your current location. You will have to have a GPS fix to make this work...

as for )1 - in the power settings simply choose not to turn off the backlight when on external power (remove the checkbox). This means that whenever the iPAQ is plugged into the car's charger the backlight will stay on.

For battery power the 5 minutes is the maximum you can get unless you want to tweak the registry. But then again 5 minutes is a lot of time for that poor little energy sucking backlight...

The standard battery is 1000 mAh, the extended battery is 1800 mAh. So you can expect the battery life to increase 1.8 fold ;-)
