Would i be right in thinking that if i brought the 310 and used then decided that i needed extra maps of Europe which i brought online and updated. Would that then effectively mean i would have everything i would have had if i had brought the 510?

I mean is the hardware identical between the two just the software that is different and is it upgradeable if i decide i need more maps for the 310?

They ARE identical in ALL respects except the SD card mapping.

Even TTHome can't tell the difference.
