Hello and welcome

I'm not familiar with the Axim, so I am not sure which Com port is required, but have a similar setup with an ageing iPAQ, which works very well.

As a first step I suggest that you use the test software GPS Viewer which should have been supplied with the gr-213. The Scan feature wil allow you to test the various Com ports to establish whether COM 1 is the correct port. Use 4800 baud rate. In fact if you must use 4800 when you configure your GPS in TomTom:

Other NMEA GPS
4800 baud rate
Serial Cable on COM?

Hope that helps.

Regards

Sorry but I'm not familiar with the Axim or WM5, so am unable to comment.
I suggest you either resort to trial and error or seek help by another post on that topic.

Regards
