This will depend upon the camera download you are currently running, so I have listed three sets of file names for the ogg sound files:
For those using the Single file download:
pocketgps_uk_sc.ogg
For those using the consolodated by type file download:

Use the above as a tick list to compile your file list, most of the above are available already, only the mobile 20 and gatso 20 require creation for a full set.

search for oggenc - it's the original one. There will probably also be fancy UIs around it but hey who need that :D

I made some for Tesco and Morrison supermarkets and it sounds ok.

As a footnote to the above post, just tried putting the (correctly) named ogg files in on my phone:
Details are:
Imate SP3 Windows Smartphone.
TT Mobile 5 v5.200 (4450)
Put the original data.chk file back in.
DOES NOT WORK on this setup, can only select the original sounds.

Once you put the files in to the folder you then need to go to Warn when near POI and select each POI category at a time, the action of re-configuring the POI warning appears to activate the new settings (this worked on TTN5,21) - not tried it on the mobile version as I don't have access to it - Mike |

| Just one other thought, for TTM the sample frequency of the .ogg files should be 16000Hz - I doubt it is this that is giving you the problem though - Mike |

One reason is that you will get a warning even when not following a route.
i.e. If you generally don't need directions to get to your destination, but DO want to be reminded of camera locations.......

Brilliant Just installed this on my TT5 using Liz's voice..... :D :D
Sounds better than the bells hoots and whistles..... :P :P
Might be worthwhile placing the ogg file sounds in the POI section of the website...just an idea... |

Hi Guys,
I have been having a good old play with this and could have some great fun too. I started doing POI alerts a few weeks ago and they are already popular. Now with this the uses are endless.
Just to help you guys out try where you can, to record in OGG as the quality is better. If you get any problems just email me and I will happily convert it for you.
The alerts that i have already ie the Ozzy stuff and others just rename them accordingly.
Ok just one more thing I am sure many people are now putting new sounds etc on there TT so please let me know what kind of sounds you want for alerts, as I have a huge bank of files amased over the years.

Yes, I did that, only the original sounds, eg, bell, cow etc were available.
The ogg files were encoded at 22050hz though, so, I will try later with 16000hz ogg files.

I will try and get hold of a smart phone and try this later, but perhaps it only works using TTN, I will post later if I find anything on the Smart Phone.
For those of you trying this on TTN version 5 please remember the POI limit is 39 so don't get too carried away loading POIs.
For version 6 devices you can go up to 100 POIs.
This also overrides any TTS setup on the Go-910, but it wipes the entered text so if you decide to revert back to TTS style warnings you will have to delete the ogg file AND re-enter the associated text. The one big plus point for me is the red light warning which I never got to sound quite right using TTS, the ogg file is fine so I am using a combination of TTS and ogg warnings - Mike |
