I have the above combination of kit and have a problem:

If I install the BluePaq sleeve and set up the bluetooth drivers etc, by default (and with no choices apparently available) it uses COM5. If I then remove BluePaq sleeve and reinsert iPAQ into Navman sleeve I no longer have any GPS because it too is trying to use COM5 and I am also unable to change that.

A colleague has exactly same kit but when she puts Navman sleeve back on, it chooses COM7 and all works !!

Any ideas ?

COM ports are really a fine art. There's no way of manually tweaking them on most Pocket PC's, which means depending on the order of drivers that have been installed, some products will grab different COM ports. Most hardware will grab a high COM port and drop to a lower COM port if it's in use. You may want to see what's taking up COM 7. An easy way to do this is to run WinFast Navigator in the Leadtek Tools section of our downloads page. This allows you to select COM ports when you go to select and may tell you what's sitting on COM7.

If your colleague's iPAQ is an identical model, then it may be the order of drivers that are installed, or you may have another driver that's sitting on COM7. Usually COM7 on older iPAQ's was the incoming Bluetooth Port (hardly used), but no way of re-assigning it, where as on newer Pocket PC's/iPAQ's COM 4 or 5 is the incoming. COM8 tends to be the Outgoing BT port for use with GPS and Serial Port Profiles.
