I'm trying to use custom POI's for my Smartphone and CoPilot Live 6. I've downloaded a few POI's and have successfully installed them into my Smartphone in the "COPILOT/save" directory. When I go into my Smartphone settings for POI's, I can see them so I know they were installed correctly. However, after installing them and going back into my storage card to find the POI file, I notice that it's no longer there. But I can still see it on my phone. Since I'm new to this I'm trying to find out what happens to a POI file after being installed and if I want to delete it how do I do that if I can't see it anymore. Thanks.
Also when in the POI settings and when changing the POI alerts, is it possible to select more than one "category"? The only option I have is either "all categories" or selecting one of the categories but not multiple categories.

On loading CP6, any OV2 files are absorbed into the ao*.* files, and then deleted. To clear out old POI's, you will need to delete all of the ao*.* files, drop in all of the OV2 and BMP files that you wish to retain, and restart CP6.

Thanks for the suggestion. It did work. I'm wondering what a BMP file is. Is it also a POI file, or what.

The BMP file is the POI bitmap that is displayed on the map, and is the standard BMP file that you can create with Windows Paint.

It needs to be saved as a 16-colour bitmap, since the files supplied on this forum (256-colour) are designed for TomTom, and will not display in CP6.

The standard CP6 POI image is 16x16 pixels, although the TomTom ones use 22x22 pixels. The 22x22 pixel size will display in CP6 as a larger than normal icon, but only if converted to a 16-colour palette.
