Went to Derby at the weekend and on my way back I went to switch it on but noticed the battery cover was missing so when taking it out its case if must of fell out :x So I go to turn it on and nothing happens. So I connect the gps to it and the light goes on in the corner but it still will not turn on. I then pushed the battery in a bit and nothing. So I did a soft reset and nothing and then a hard reset and nothing. Whats wrong with it? can't get it on.
Also where can I get another battery cover if I can get one.

What PDA model are you talking about? I know of at least one that had a power switch in the battery cover (the Compaq Aero 1500)... _________________ Lutz

It wont work without the battery cover. I selotaped mine on when it was obvious it was going to fall off at the slightest provocation.
If you've lost it, you'll have to get a replacement, or try to trigger the microswitch that detects it.

To add to previous reply, the microswitch that detects the cover is located bottom right of the battery compartment, looking at it right way up from the rear. It looks lite part of a little cog wheel as far as I can make out. Push this up, i.e simulating the action of inserting the lug from the battery cover into it, and then turn the unit on. Hey presto. You'll have to think of a more permanent way to keep the switch in the on position though until you get a replacement. By the way, good luck if you're phoning the Medion helpline. I've found it common to wait over 40 minutes in a queue and still no answer. |
