Could anyone kindly let me know if there are any idiot proof instructions anywhere, for downloading and installing the updated maps for my Go 300 ?

I have ordered a new 1gb card but have'nt a clue as to whether I should just stick the new blank card in the Tom Tom and expect TT Home to do the rest, or do I first have to copy over the contents of my old card? Thanks very much for any help.

When you have bought the Maps, you can Start up HOME and do the Download and Install with that.

If you have a USB2 Card Reader, it Installs even quicker.

As it's a Blank SD Card you will be asked to Change Device. Choose TomTom 300 and it will know that you are going to add the Software and Maps to that Card.

You will need to Login, in HOME, so that the Map relates to the one you bought. Then Click Download your Updates.

Be prepared for a long wait. An 8MB Broadband takes about 40 minutes to download. When it's finished you will be asked if you want to Install now. If Yes, it will install the Downloads, it includes the Postcodes Files, to the SD Card.

When you put the new Card in the 300, you will need to Activate the Map. This is because HOME doesn't know your Device No.

If you don't have a Card Reader, do everything as above. It will just take longer to Install.;)
