I apologize in advance if this is a dumb question but I just got my first GPS, a Nuvi 350, on Saturday. I love this thing and it's just so easy to use. even the wife figured it out on her own. Being here in the States of course mine came pre-loaded with U.S. software. I plan to visit Holland, Germany, Denmark and Sweden this winter. What can I use to navigate ovger there? I see City Navigator comes on SD card or CD - which one can I use and if the answer is "either", which is easier to set-up? Is there anything else I can use instead? i.e. Something cheaper?

Thanks MK, some good info there but I still have no idea what will run on my Nuvi. If I'm gonna spend over $300 on additional software I guess I'd kind of like to be sure I'm getting something that'll work and getting the best bang for my buck (or "quid" as it were).

I guess the SD cards are easier to setup for some people, as you simply put the card into the slot and it will work. However, if you already have an SD card with maps and/or mp3 music on it, it might be easier to get the DVD and then copy the relevant maps onto the SD card.

I think the European DVD will start to look more economical if you visit too many countries. Also, if you want to plan things in advance, the DVD might be better. However, unless you have enough SD card space for all the countries you need, you'll need to think how you would update the maps half way through the trip (are you planning on taking a laptop, for example).

Not really, although Garmin support third party maps, no one has issued any mainstream maps, and the ones that are available aren't a lot cheaper.

Hmmm, part of 'that other thread' should lead you off to find MetroGuide Europe v8 on ebay UK for around £79, so only $150.
