POICapture is still with us, but unfortunately there appears to be a problem when trying to use it with the ONE NE using V6.56 Sad

There is a Google Map on the Submissions Page. Could you pinpoint the positions that way?

Don't forget the manual way of adding cameras too...

how can it be accurate having to click on a map,how do you know exactly where it is,isn,t it more accurate stopping at the side of the actual camera and sending the points in!I,m confused.

I didn't mean to confuse.

In the absence of being able to stop adjacent to the camera, which is the most accurate way, it is possible to get quite a good degree of accuracy on the map.

Following Andy's method, as linked to above, is a good way of doing it.

It is intended to show the direction of travel of the vehicle when the camera would take the picture. On a Dual Carriageway it isn't so important.

The submission won't be rejected because you left that information out. Smile

There's an application called Quickam which can be found at http://www.automated.it/ttg-apps.html. It allows you to record cameras at your current location in a couple of screen-taps. It was originally written for TomTom v5.2, but I'm still using it quite successfully at v6.52. It doesn't record the same level of detail as POICapture, but it does store a POI location very quickly.

That's good news Daggers. I thought that app didn't work with v6.

the submission page features 'tool tips' - hover the mouse cursor over any input section and it will show a description.

for heading this is: "Heading: the direction of travel in degrees (1-360)"

Well, if you want, you CAN see the degrees heading on your TomTom - it's on the "configure GPS" page (where the satellite signal strength bars are).

But this isn't the sort of accuracy/detail they are looking for, just use the little compass chart next to the Heading box on the submission page to estimate it with reference to the road as shown on the Google map.

For example, if the road is going left to right across the page and you were travelling to the left, the heading is "90".

If the road is going diagonally up the page from, say, 7 o'clock on a clock face to 1 o'clock, and you were travelling up the page, then your heading is "22". Get it? Smile
