Having read the review on this site I took the plunge and purchased an Orgin B2.

So far it has worked 100% and is rapidly becoming a "must have"

Q. Does anyone know how to easily test the Laser Alert?

Any info would be much appreciated Thumbs Up

I used a TV Remote to trigger mine, had to try a few before I found one that was powerful enough. If you have Nevo on a PocketPC that works too Laughing
It's worth doing if only so you know what the alert sounds like as it scared the crap out of me when it alarmed for the first time on the A3, Traffic Car parked in a layby with a handheld laser pointed down the carriageway, you get a voice alert 'LASER' and an alarm and if you're not expecting it and haven't heard it before it will give you a coronary!

I had a chance to test mine out today. A scamera van on the A61 out of Sheffield, but not a peep out of the B2. So I done a u-turn and repostioned the detector lower down. Done this 5 times and still not a dickie bird! I bet the bloke in the van wondered what I was doing going past him 5 times in a row.

I have had it go off twice for laser when theres been nothing about.

The only thing I can say is that its a dual carriageway and I went down both lanes but could he have guesstimated my speed was low and not squeezed the trigger ?

Where abouts do you have your laser detectors located. I was told lower down is better as long as the wipers dont block it.

The Safety Partnership vans primarily use radar so it's not surprising that the laser alert didn't trigger.

I positioned mine behind the rear view mirror, the laser scatter is enough that it shouldn't make a great deal of difference.

Both the ones in the van and also the tripods they set up along the road side with a box on top all send out radar so the only way you would pickk these up is if you have a radar detector.
