what map version is on the new TT one unit? I have 6.05 on mine.

i just purchased the classic one ....doesnt come with screen mount or charger. So new unit having them is a plus. Might return it and wait for the new one and ave having to buy a mount.

The only date we were told was september and there are 4 weeks in the month Confused Having said that the One we came away with was a full retail boxed version implying that it is just a matter of production and logistics.

I didnt see it mentioned in your review, but did the lower processor speed show through at all??

I am leaning towards getting the current model for the faster processor, headphone socket and slightly more rugged looking :D

I bought the original TomTom One on the day that the new one was announced! (i checked the website that evening, glad i did now). I'd already used it to drive back to Sheffield from Cambridge, but decided i had to take it back. I packaged it up very carefully and even left the torn cellophane wrapper on the outside and said it was an unwanted birthday present. Curry’s took it back after a bit of persuasion. I'm now waiting until the new TomTom one is in the shops.... I’m without GPS now after I sold my pda/gps combo.... its proving difficult with my on the road job!! Sad

Anyone got any further news on retail availability of the new One in the uk?? TomTom themselves said anytime within the next 2 weeks. If anyone knows where i can get one please post.
:D

I called a couple of Halfords too. They said they will be the first company in the uk to stock the new One because all the rest are still trying to sell old stock. Apparantly TomTom are withholding stock before the big boys i.e. currys, pcworld, comet etc have sold all their existing TomTom ones at nearly full price.

The Halfords stores said towards the end of this week or next week and would be on sale at around £200 for the UK one.

Halfords should get them for the weekend, as soon as they are delivered to head office they are being couriered out to stores. Each store is getting a decent amount so you should be okay, but what I would recommend is to ring up at the end of each day to see if they've arrived and if they have get down as quick as poss!
