Has anyone experienced checkboxes in all applications disappearing? Not sure if connected to TomTom Nav2 or GPSassist, or another application. Ipaq requires soft reset to bring back the checkboxes.

Let me guess - iPAQ 2210? This is a common problem and not limited to check boxes. Radio buttons and other graphical elements are affected as well. May be some kind of memory leak issue. Try a soft reset and see if that helps

It is TomTom that causes it and it needs a soft reset to fix it.

It's not just TomTom. We have seen the same effect with Destinator and other larger programs as well.

Maybe this has something to do with it :

[quote]Windows CE 4.2 has a limitation of 32 simultaneous processes. Why is this a problem? Because of the increasing complexity of hardware in devices that now require more software to control them, and also because of developers not always choosing the most efficient route ...../quote]

Not sure. the 32 process limitation would rather terminate your program, not make it behave funny. To me it still sounds more like a memory (or handle) issue

Yeah, just found the same thing on my new XDA II !

Scary! 8O

Definitely seems to be due to the GPS application that comes with TomTom. But it's intermittent. I've gone into the GPS app and been OK, but so far had to soft reset 2x and hard rest once.

I'm about to email TomTom about it.

just checking because you said XDA II and I was curious if you managed to get the BlueTooth GPS to run. But never mind, yours is serial.

Yeah, the way I look at it is if you've got to have a charging cable to the GPS anyway, why bother with BT - it just complicates things Wink

I have got the same setup as you. I have had same problem with check boxes disapearing from time to time, not alot though.

What sort of cradle do you use ??

How do you use the phone in the car ?

Hi Nick

Sorry, only just noticed your post. I just use a normal unpowered cradle and power the XDA and the 210 from a hard-wired connection into the fuse box.

But the vanishing checkboxes doesn't require the XDA to be in the car or connected to the 210 - all that's needed is to open the TT GPS program :|

I also get this problem, i have a 2210 with PPC2003. I find it sorts its self out when you do a soft reset but the problem always happens again.
