I believe that by default it is off.

Even when it is on you will not always get a corrected position. It will depend on whether the WAAS satellite can be seen or not.

Doesn't EGNOS improve the accuracy by a fair amount?

The main issue with the GPSInfo program is I'm not sure how to tell if WAAS/EGNOS is on or off (the checkbox is always deselected when I connect to the GPS device)

The spec sheet says the VTG sentence is "optional" - any idea how one would turn it "on" ??

Hi Everyone,

Just to confirm that we have now received our second delivery of the above items (the first sold out before it arrived!).

We have both the Globalsat BT-359S and Globalsat BT-359W in stock and available for delivery.

I'm from the US(California).. Can someone please tell me where I could get authentic GlobalSat devices?

The mini USB is used for charging only. To use the GPS with a PC you need to connect via Bluetooth.

GPSInfo on my PC (WinXP) doesn't see my Globalsat 359 when I scan COM ports. Any ideas?

Is it a simple matter of starting up 359, and then GPSinfo should see it when i scan com ports? i cant get it to work.

Is this GPS fully compatible with memory map.

Most Sirf GPS are not, ie, when SN is turned off, and you are walking slowly, the velocity arrow and speed are not recorded until you are going approx 3 mph.

Thanks

I decided to take the plunge and buy one.

It works perfectly with memory map, and the SN issue turns on/off properly.

Unlike the Holux competitors.

great device

I really like the BT 359 but have experienced some Smart Phone problems using it. Trying to use BT-359 with MS Live Search on my new Verizon xv6800 with no luck. Live Search functions fine but can not find GPS. It works fine with MS Pocket Streets 2005. Seems to be some kind of port problem. It worked fine on my old Verizon Samsung I860. Both phones run MS Windows 6 Professional.
Any ideas appreciated?
