save info b4 clearing memoy on nuvi 350

i know that when you update the software on the nuvi, it clears everything in the system. How do I save my waypoints or even locate them on the nuvi and save that and then just transfer it back when i'm done updating? thanks.

I've just updated my 360 without backing up my waypoints, and they are still there. Can't see why an update would overwrite non system information.

whenever you update it warns you that it will clear the memory and it usually does. some ppl copy and paste the stuff and then just reattach it. i wanted to know how? thanks though.

Oh help!! I'm new to Nuvi and foolishly downloaded and installed the nuvi 360 update without backing up, which I don't know how to do anyway. It worked OK for a while afterwards but now I can only use the thing if I'm in Isle of Wight or Wales. How can I get the rest back?
