Lutz has been really hard at work, creating a new comparison database which we will be using on the website both in our future reviews and also to allow you to select the features you want to compare so that we can easily show you which products would suit you best. This will cover the complete range from street navigation program, topographical program, or even hardware like Bluetooth or CF Receivers. I'm going to try not set our profanity sensors off, but this really will be a kick a$$ database, but we need something from all of you!

In short, we need a complete list of features that you think really are important to you when choosing hardware and software.

So.... Can you all (yes we mean all!) post what you think are your top 10 features which you would be looking for in products (taking into account that most packages are purchased in hardware/software bundles). The most popular ones will appear in the database when we release it, but we want to get this right first time!

I'll start the ball rolling.....

Top 10 requirements (in no particular order)
Spoken Directions / Voice Navigation
Snap to Road
Auto Re-Route
Accurate searchable database of street names/postcodes
Switch between a Map and Safety Screen
Diversion
SiRF IIe/LP
Cable less setup
Long battery life for GPS
Datalogging (receiver)

My top 10

1) Spoken Directions.
2) Auto re-route.
3) Display pointer (like NDB) to final destination when navigating, this would help tremendously in the decision as to which way to turn if the next road indicated is not available.
4) Full post code search.
5) Street names horizontal on screen ala Destinator 2.
6) Multiple via waypoints when navigating.
7) Easy switch between Map and Navigate.
8) Set diversion distance ahead.
9) Move the current position from the centre of the screen.
10) Measure distance between two points.
