The main sticking point for me is that i-Go is only available on an Sd card. I already have an SD card with lots of my key apps installed to it so I don't really want to be switching cards everytime I want to use another program, especially when travelling. I'm likely to loose the thing.

I read on here somewhere that in Israel they were installing the i-Go software on the users cards. Has anyone attempted doing that themselves?

To install the map on your existing card you still need the activation code from iGO.

Last word from iGO Marketing is that they will stop doing that and focus exclusively on the bundling with the mini SD card.

We told them that is a mistake. Everybody tells them that is a mistake. They choose not to listen. Time will tell.

That's a real bummer. It's going to stop what looks like a good product from capturing the market. I think they're going to score an own goal with that policy.

If they they think thay are going to stop pirating of their software it's not. One day someone will crack the code the software will be available for download - it always is.

It would be much easier if they just adopted the normal registration and activation code system, heck even tie it to the device ID some way if necessary but at least give us the freedom to install it on our own cards. Sad
