Bought the Globalsat BR 305 several months back and it worked great for several weeks. Then after not using it for a couple of months it would not lock on to the constellation. LED blinks and there is NMEA traffic but no GSA, etc, messages. I left it on for several hours and it finally locked up okay. Turned it off and on over several hour period and all okay. Left it set for another week and now it won't ever lock up - LED just stays steady. Again there is initialization message traffic as viewed on GPSinfo. Cold, Hot, Warm start settings interrupt the data stream but that is all. No signal strength displayed, no time, location or any satellite data. Seems as if the internal antenna may have lost the connection?

It is worthless this way. Any suggestions?

Hal

I have had similar problems with two separate receivers, both started fine and worked ok for ages them stopped or were very erratic at lock up. ie sometime great, otyher times 15 mins or not at all. Resetting using Winfast navigator seemed to cure but only temp.Try nmea rather than sirf and check position re windscreens etc, otherwise I suspect there is a fault inside, If out of warranty new one only answer I think, try Easy Devices they have a good price and good service (they replaced both my faulty units)
