Had my Streetpilot 310 about a week. Expected a poor satellite reception when on the front screen of my Picasso - and that's just what I got. It's better on the side of the front screen but still loses satellite reception where trees grow over the road. I assume there's nothing I can do about that(?). My main complaint is that it takes so long to "Acquire Satellites". I did the initial configuration and it took about 10 minutes to find the satellite, and I assumed that after that it would do so almost instantaneously. However it still takes about 3 or 4 minutes from cold to acquire the satellites. How can I reduce this time? Should I do the set-up again? If so, how do I get to that initial screen?

Also, I hate the wires stretching over the dashboard. Can you get an extension wire that goes from the cigarette lighter that I could thread somehow under the dash? If so does anyone know where to get one from and the best way to do this in a Picasso?

Any ideas folks?

Alan

should help your situation, stick it behind the rear-view mirror, tuck the wire behind the trim.
I fixed mine externally on the roof of me van, works a treat

you complaint should not be about the GPS Unit, it is you car at fault. Your only option is the external antenna.
