spvm5000 - run gpsviewer each time for baud rate?

hi guys,ive just got a Solar Bluetooth GPS Receiver
FGPSSBT02. charged it turned it on, paired it with my spv m5000 on com 4... tom tom works fine (com 8 wouldnt work)
it came with gpsviewer which i installed. oh im running mobile5

My question is this...Do i have to run gpsviewer each time i run tomtom nav5 to set the baud rate to 9600? as there doesnt seem to be a option within tomtom or win mobile 5?

the other question is - what does the waas egnos checkbox do? of what purpose would it be to me? as ive read in the forum it has no use for satnav.....
